Resident Evil: Revelations for 3DS is worth $50 price, says Capcom (Digital Trends)

resident-evil-revelationsSure, there?s no shortage of Nintendo 3DS gamers looking forward to Resident Evil: Revelations, but will it be worth the price?

As revealed on GameStop, Capcom?s next installment of the Resident Evil franchise will retail for $50, making its console-like experience cost just as much as the average console game. And according to the developer, the higher-than-usual price point for a handheld title is entirely justified by the content provided in Revelations.

?Resident Evil Revelations is an all new Resident Evil title with over 20 hours of gameplay, and cutscenes beautifully rendered in fear-inducing 3D,? a Capcom spokesperson told Kotaku. ?A true console experience on a handheld device, Resident Evil Revelations is an epic title that offers both a single-player campaign for that classic survival horror gaming experience, and an additional RAID mode that can be played cooperatively or single player. To handle all of that data Resident Evil Revelations requires a 4GB cartridge, resulting in a higher price point.?

It?s worth noting that the $50 price does not include the Circle Pad add-on that the game was often demoed with (and many thought might be bundled with Revelations), though the game doesn?t specifically require this attachment.

Resident Evil: Revelations hits shelves February 2, 2012.
